Blackcurrants - the new super food Goat's Milk, is it worth trying | I love Ice CreamDo you love ice cream? I do!! Having grown up in the era famous for large plastic tubs of so called soft scoop - which always came out of the family freezer solid as a brick. I've been thrilled as an adult to discover that ice cream is now completely and wonderfully different. In those days the choice was vanilla, which was very yellow and pretty tasteless; raspberry ripple, which was vanilla with rivers of red ice going through it; or rum and raisin which you couldn't get drunk from, even though we thought you could!! Today the flavours seem limited only by the shelf space available in the freezer display cabinet at the local shop, except of course my own Local Sainsbury, who choose to stock only Ben and Jerry's Phish Food - not in my view a happy combination of chocolate, marshmallow and sundry other items. My personal top three reads ...
i must have esoteric taste in ice cream because the most popular ice cream in America is vanilla, that is, according to the International Dairy Foods Association. The history of ice cream remains surrounded in somewhat dubious folklore, including the myth that it was invented by the chef of Charles 1st in England who was sworn to secrecy over the recipe by Charles. A fantastic pick me up can be found at Cyber Cones, where you can choose an ice cream with all the trimmings, which is then made for you, Virtual only i'm afraid!! |
