There is some truth to it though, have you ever noticed how sometimes they pretend they don't see you as they drive past because you're on the wrong side of the road or for some other whimsical, unknown reason. Having said that, I have it first hand from some cabbies that it's one of the few areas where blokes are better off than chicks - as far as hailing cabs goes, apparently girls are REALLY bad tippers and usually the hotter they are the less they tip - so it's the one time they don't get all the male attention as any self respecting cabbie cruising along in his black cab will bypass young missy and head straight for the ordinary looking middle aged bloke. ... great, one for us then! The Knowledge is famous now, most Londoners know it is the exam that a cabbie has to pass - naming loads and loads of London streets, in order to get his license. Given that I see more and more of those route planning satnav systems in their cabs, I'm guessing that lots of them don't have very good memories! We love to hate them really and would be totally lost without our cab drivers, so here's wishing them well - long may they prosper on the busy roads of London Town!!
